Garth Brooks sings to fan with cancer, keeping her sign as a 'reminder' to keep things in perspective (Video)

Garth Brooks joins the long list of artists who have used their star power to make a difference in someone’s life. He stopped his concert in Minneapolis on Friday night to serenade a fan with cancer.

Brooks noticed a concer-goer, Teresa Shaw, was holding up a sign that read "Chemo this morning. Garth tonight. Enjoying the dance." He was clearly touched by this and gave her the surprise of a lifetime.

Brooks kissed Shaw’s forehead and handed her guitar, then held her sign up so the crowd could see it and said “you have all my strength, you have everybody's strength in here, and you go kick cancer's ass!" Kare11 reports.

Although Brooks likely made a huge impact in Shaw’s life just for doing that, she might be surprised to know that she has also made an impact on his.

The country singer revealed he’s keeping the sign as a “reminder” to put things in “perspective.”

"It's a reminder to all of us. We can sit here and we can think we're working and we can think, oh my God two shows on Friday, two shows on Saturday! Well, this woman goes through chemo in the morning and comes to the show at night,” he explained. “Nothing is hard after that. It puts it all in perspective.”
