Dropkick Murphys cancels Tulsa show after tour bus kills highway pedestrian

Dropkick Murphys, the American Celtic punk band, announced on Facebook Sunday that it cancelled its' appearance in Tulsa, Okla. after the band's tour bus was involved in a fatal accident on a Texan highway, killing a pedestrian.

In the Facebook post, the band was traveling just north of Austin, Texas after an appearance in San Antonio when a person "suddenly ran onto the highway in front of [the] tour bus." Police are suspecting the act to be suicide.

"We were left with a driver that has been severely shaken up by the accident and a bus too damaged to continue onto Tulsa," The band wrote.

The band said that it had tried to reach Tulsa, but all efforts were unsuccessful and that the band ran out of time. The band was supposed to make an appearance in the Oklahoma city that day.

"As much as it pains us to miss a show and we truly apologize for it, we'd like to stop and acknowledge that a man has lost his life," The band continued in the post. "Please keep him and any family he might have in your prayers."

All tickets purchased via the Internet and by phone will be automatically refunded where as those who bought tickets for the Tulsa concert will receive a refund when taking the tickets to the Cain's Ballroom box office, the band's post said.

"Tulsa: thanks for your support and understanding," the band added. "We will see you soon!"

The Dropkick Murphys will appear next at the Salon Jose Cuervo venue in Mexico City, Mexico, according to the band's website.
