Sea World Orlando

Sea World goes beyond your average aquarium and theme park. They offer a variety of tours to enhance your experience to the max.

We visited Sea World in Orlando for the day. They have many shows there but unfortunately the day we were there it rained and One Ocean was cancelled.

The Penguins Up-Close Tour had a knowledgeable staff to teach us all about penguins, If you go bring a jacket because it is COLD in there! The penguins were adorable and my daughter loved petting them.

We rode Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin which takes you through the life of Puck the Penguin and ends in the penguin colony exhibit. The ride offers a “mild” or “wild” version. We took the wild and it was not too crazy for us and our seven year old. Because you end up at the penguin colony it is very cold, I can’t stress enough that you will need a jacket.

The Wild Arctic Ride was definitely wild, do not go after lunch; it made us nauseous.

Going to SeaWorld is more to learn about animals not just for the entertainment. Many trainers are found throughout the park holding different animals that you can ask questions about and sometimes pet. Each trainer has cards that they give out to children where you find facts about certain animals. My daughter loved to collect the cards and still reads them at home.

The most important thing we learned is that Sea World was built in order to raise funds for their animal rescue. They have a SeaWorld and Busch Gardens Conservation Fund and have donated over 10 million dollars in the last 10 years to assist animals all around the world.

Animal conservation and education is their primary goal. Sea World also offers a variety of camps and educational programs that are worth checking out.
