TV Ratings: 'So You Think You Can Dance' closes up, 'Big Brother' wins night

So You Think You Can Dance bowed out on Wednesday night up in the ratings, but still couldn't even come close to a normal episode of Big Brother.

CBS topped the night among the four networks with a 1.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 5.73 million viewers. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Big Brother pulled in a 2.2 rating, but was down from last week. Extant continues to perform steadily at a 1.0 demo rating no matter any adjustments the network makes.

Despite the slightly lower 1.3 rating in the demo, NBC boasted the best overall audience numbers of the night with 7.44 million tuning in. America's Got Talent improved on the night to a 1.9 rating, while Taxi Brooklyn was similarly up thanks to its lead-in to a 0.9 rating.

Fox came in third by tying NBC in the advertiser important 18-49 demo, but had a lower average audience of 4.08 million viewers, HitFix reports . SYTYCD closed out another season up over last week to a 1.3 rating.

ABC opted to air all encores for the night and pulled in a 1.1 rating in the demo and 3.575 million viewers. The CW's Penn & Teller: Fool Us was strong, pulling in a 0.7 rating.
