Seventh Son is a fantasy family adventure starring Julianne Moore, Jeff Bridges, Jason Scott Lee and The Chronicles of Narnia: The Dawn Treader’s Ben Barnes. It was very loosely inspired by the novel “The Last Apprentice: Revenge of the Witch” by Joseph Delaney. It follows young Thomas Ward (Barnes) as he becomes the apprentice to the local sorcerer, Spook, to learn how to fight evil spirits. His first challenge comes when the formidable Mother Malkin (Moore) escapes her confinement while Spook is away. The film’s trailer portrays a world filled with danger and mysticism and the special effects and action sequences will keep moviegoers enthralled as Thomas fights to save humanity from the evil sorceress. It opens in theaters on Friday, February 6, 2015.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 is the next installment in the The Hunger Games film franchise. It is the first of two films based on the novel “Mockingjay,” which is the final book in the trilogy. Returning cast members include Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Donald Sutherland, Jeffrey Wright, Sam Claflin, Jena Malone, Stanley Tucci and the late Philip Seymour Hoffman. Julianne Moore also joins the cast in this chapter of the saga. Here, Katniss Everdeen (Lawrence) becomes the hesitant hero and symbol of hope against the totalitarian Capitol. The trailer displays how Everdeen continues to overcome immense hardship as the world around her crumbles and she and her friends must fight to win their freedom. It opens in theaters on Friday, November 21.

Open Windows is a crime thriller starring The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey’s Elijah Wood, Sasha Grey and Basic Instinct 2’s Neil Maskell. The film centers on Nick Chambers (Wood,) who just won an Internet contest to have dinner with his favorite actress, Jill Goddard (Grey.) When Jill refuses to attend the dinner, Chord, (Maskell,) a man who says he’s Jill’s campaign manager, offers Chambers an offer he can’t refuse, the ability to watch Jill via computer, unaware that his agreement will put himself and Jill in grave danger. The movie’s trailer shows how Chambers discovers Chord is a psychopath using him as a pawn to track down the movie star. Suspense, terror and fear saturate this flick as Chambers watches as Chord stalks Jill and he races against time to stop Chord’s deadly intentions.
