TNT is looking like the next network to throw its hat in the comic book ring as they are nearing ordering a pilot for Titans.
The series would be an hourlong drama focusing on a younger superhero team lead by Dick Grayson after he has ditched the Robin moniker and become Nightwing, Variety reports.
Warner Horizon Television would produce the latest DC Comics television series, with Akiva Goldsman executive producing and Marc Haimes co-executive producing.
Grayson is leading the way on Titans and will be joined by other young superheroes like Starfire and Raven.
The teen superhero series has been around since the team, which consisted of Robin, Kid Flash and Aqualad appeared as the Junior Justice League in the 1964 issue The Brave and the Bold, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The group, most often known as the Teen Titans, have been popular and a new run just started in comic books, but they have also appeared several times in their own television series, with the most recent being on Cartoon Network.
Other than Grayson as Nightwing, it isn't know which team TNT and Warner Bros. would focus on for the new series.
If Titans makes it beyond the pilot stage, it would be just the latest comic book property to be translated for TV. There are several new series debuting shortly, including The Flash, Constantine, Gotham, iZombie, Daredevil and Agent Carter.
