A couple in Indiana has been accused of holding a woman captive in their trailer home for two months and locking her in a dog cage.
According to CNN, authorities said that the 30-year-old woman was gagged, forced to wear a dog collar and sexually assaulted by Ricky House Jr. and Kendra Tooley during her time in captivity.
The victim was allegedly picked up by House after she and her boyfriend had a fight. He took her back to the mobile home he shared with Tooley and would not let her leave.
She was then reportedly drugged with chloroform, tied to a bed post, beaten and raped repeatedly by her captors. House even built a dog cage and often locked the woman inside.
"It was pretty much modernized slavery in my eyes," said Posey County chief deputy sheriff Tom Latham.
The victim was eventually rescued by Tooley’s ex-husband, who persuaded the couple to hand the woman over to him.
The Associated Press noted that the duo has been charged with sexual assault, criminal confinement, kidnapping and other related felonies.
They are both being held on $50,000 bond.
