Forbes names Sofia Vergara highest paid TV actress

Sofia Vergara can add one more achievement to her list after topping Forbes' list of highest paid TV actresses.

According to Forbes.com, this is the 42-year-old actress' third year in a row being named as the top earning TV actress. Vergara also came in at No. 54 on Forbes' Celebrity 100, beating out Dwayne Wade and Gisele Bundchen. Vergara's total earnings as of June 2014 came to about $37 million, taking home about $325,00 per episode with another portion of her earnings coming from advertising and endorsements.

The Toronto Sun reports Vergara beat out Mariska Hargitay and Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting as highest paid TV actress. Hargitay, star of NBC's Law & Order: SVU, came in second with earnings of $13 million while Cuoco, of The Big Bang Theory fame, came in with a cool $11 million. Others who made the list include Mindy Kaling and Lena Dunham.

According to The Toronto Sun, positions on this list are determined by estimating pre-tax earnings throughout the preceding year. Included in the listed earnings are TV appearances, endorsements and statements from the stars' representatives (e.g. agents, lawyers and managers).

In addition to this accolade, Sofia Vergara and her co-stars were recently honored with the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series for their work on Modern Family.
