Actress Essence Atkins officiated Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union's wedding on Saturday.
The Haunted House 2 actress served for the first time as an officiant at the their wedding, but admitted she had been ordained for some time, Contact Music reports.
"I'm actually officiating the ceremony... My husband and I are officiating the ceremony," Atkins explained. "My husband did the ceremony for Alfonso Ribeiro about two years ago and then they (Union and Wade) asked us to do it together, so we are officiating."
The wedding, which included a bevy of celebrities like Kevin Hart, Chris Bosh and LeBron James in attendance, was slightly unusual in that Union opted not to have bridesmaids walk down the aisle. John Legend also performed at the ceremony.
As previously reported, Union and Wade tied the knot in Miami at the Chateau Artisan castle in front of a small gathering of friends and family.
Ahead of the wedding, the couple told guests they would have to sign a confidentiality agreement and could not bring their cellphones or cameras along. Guests were also instructed to bring a photo ID as they tried to keep the wedding as private as they could.
