Something Wicked, which is Brittany Murphy's last film, is set to hit screens in Los Angeles starting next week.
The 2009 film will open in more than 70 theaters in the L.A. area, including in Orange County, Ventura and others, as well as in Las Vegas on Sept. 12.
Something Wicked is a psychological thriller about a young, recently engaged couple who find themselves up against sinister forces and also stars Shantel VanSanten, Julian Morris, John robinson and James Patrick Stuart.
The film opened on April 4 in select theaters in Oregon and Washington. The locations, consisting on Regal Cinemas in Eugene, Portland and Seattle were set to be tests to gauge how popular the film before possibly expanding the rollout.
Something Wicked was the final movie Murphy filmed before she passed away of pneumonia and anemia at the age of 32. Her husband, Simon Monjack would follow his wife in the same manner only five months later. The actress' father Angelo Bertolotti has been convinced she was actually poisoned to death.
In August, Lifetime announced a TV biopic was in the works based on her, titled The Brittany Murphy Story, with Amanda Fuller in the lead role.
