'24' movie could still happen as Imagine remains extremely interested

Jack Bauer might make it to the big screen as talks have reportedly moved forward a little about the possibility of finally adapting the series for film.

According to sources who spoke exclusively with TVLine, Imagine Entertainment is once again toying with the idea of taking another shot of bringing the Kiefer Sutherland series to theaters.

While Imagine and chairman Brian Grazer are said to be keen on the idea, they have not reached out to 20th Century Fox yet.

Ahead of the recent event series 24: Live Another Day, Sutherland admitted a movie actually happening was a tiny possibility. "The film's an ongoing situation," the actor told reporters. "There's always an opportunity to do that."

The heated talks come after Live Another Day did fairly well in the TV ratings during its 12-episode run. The event series closed out in July to a 1.7 rating in the 18-49 demographic and averaged 5.97 million viewers. The majority of the series hovered around the 1.5 rating mark.

Still, while Imagine is looking to bring the series to the big screen, Fox is interested in putting together another possible miniseries, which could complicate things. So either way, 24 fans likely win.
