Video Premiere: The Tiger Club "Apeliotes"

The Tiger Club was born in 2004 from the need to play adventurous but accessible music that harnessed founder Baxter Robertson's compositional skills, his sense of whimsy, and his desire to connect with people through live performance.

"Apeliotes" is a minor wind-god of the Greeks, southeast to be specific. Minor because he-she is not one of the major compass points. One of the many winds that carried ancient ships to strange, distant shores, Apeliotes is at the heart of the adventure theme of the album Mephisto Island.

The song is deeply sensuous while suggesting the danger and mysteries of way stations across the eastern trade routes of millennia long past. Throw in some sand and a couple of camels and you're there!
