Another day and yet another casting addition to HBO's upcoming Westworld series. This time it is Thandie Newton who is joining the cast.
Newton has been tapped to portray Maeve Millay, who is described as having seen it all before, while being attractive, smart and perceptive of others, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Should the pilot get picked up for Westworld, Newton will have two projects to work on at once as DirecTV renewed Rogue for two more seasons on Tuesday.
Newton joins quite a large cast for the series based off Michael Crichton's 1973 film of the same name. Ed Harris is the most recent addition to the cast and he will play a key villain called The Man in Black.
The series is being toplined by Anthony Hopkins, Evan Rachel Woods and James Marsden. Others in the cast include Jeffrey Wright, Shannon Woodward, Rodrigo Santoro, Eddie Rouse and many, many others.
J.J. Abrams is on board to executive produce alongside Bryan Burk, Jerry Weintraub, Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan. Joy and Nolan co-wrote the pilot script for Westworld.
Kathy Lingg and Athena Wickham will co-executive produce, while David Coatsworth will line produce and co-exec produce. Susie Ekins will be a co-producer.
Production on the pilot episode for the series is set to start later this month.
