Country superstar Brad Paisley dedicates song to doctor infected with Ebola

Recent headlines about the Ebola outbreak have caught Brad Paisley’s attention.

In a tweet he posted over the weekend, the “River Bank” singer asked his followers to “pray for Dr. Kent Brantly,” a physician whose work with Ebola patients has caused him to develop the deadly illness, reports Rolling Stone.

A few moments later, Paisley posted another tweet, dedicating his song, “Me and Jesus” to the doctor, notes Fox News. The song appears as a “bonus track” on Paisley’s upcoming album, Moonshine in the Trunk, which hits shelves on August 26.

According to USA Today, Paisley was deeply touched by Dr. Brantly’s story and his decision to give special Ebola-fighting serum to a friend rather than take it for himself. Paisley called the doctor “a brave soul” who “risks his life to save others.”

Paisley’s heartfelt messages show a different side to the usually playful singer. Over the weekend, he also got into a bit of trouble with his record label for bypassing its executives and sharing teasers for his upcoming album, states Billboard.

Paisley is also just one of the many acts set to rock ABC’s CMA Fest Music Special airing on Tuesday, August 5.

Meanwhile, Dr. Kent Brantly is being treated for his case of Ebola at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.
