Chris Pratt visited the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles to screen Guardians of the Galaxy and cheer up the patients.
According to ABC News, Pratt worked alongside Marvel and the Children’s Miracle Network hospital in order to arrange a visit, where he allegedly held a screening of Guardians of the Galaxy for the patients, staff, and families.
Pratt spent over three hours visiting different sections of the hospital dressed as his character, Star-Lord. The actor signed autographs, handed out toys, made patients smile, let the children try on his costume, and even read lines with a patient who is a fan of The Lego Movie, says E! News.
The actor also made special visits to children in the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit, Children’s Center for Cancer and Blood Diseases, and the Pediatric ICU because many of the patients were too sick to make it to the screening of the film.
Guardians of the Galaxy, starring Zoe Saldana (Avatar), Dave Bautista (WWE Smackdown), Vin Diesel (Fast & Furious 6), and Bradley Cooper (The Hangover), was released on Aug. 1. The film was a success in the box office, outperforming The Giver and Expendables 3.
