Adam Dunn pitches as White Sox lose big

Usually there is little excitement in the ninth inning of a 15-0 game. That was not the case on Tuesday night, when the Texas Rangers were pounding the host Chicago White Sox. The reason for this is that the White Sox had first baseman and designated hitter Adam Dunn pitch the ninth.
Dunn performed pretty well, allowing just one run to score, which made the score 16-0 (the eventual final score). He got Elvis Andrus, J.P. Arencibia and Rougned Odor to punch out, reports vavel.com.
“He's been begging for that for a while,” White Sox manager Robin Ventura said, according to ESPN Chicago. “You've got to give the fans what they want.”
Dunn had success throwing a power sinker, which registered consistently on the radar gun around 80 mph. His fastest pitch was clocked in at 83 mph.
Chicago starter John Danks lasted 4 2/3 innings, giving up nine runs on four home runs and five walks. The bullpen did not fare much better, as the relievers yielded six runs in 3 1/3 innings.
“I loved seeing Adam out there,” Danks said. “Obviously it’s a pretty crappy situation to have him out there, but most importantly it saved an arm in the bullpen.”
