According to BET, Songz said, “I feel like this album is actually the best released. The best strategized, best marketing, the most authentic musically, you know, and true to a different side of myself that everybody may not know. I feel great, I have the excitement that I had around my first one, but it’s more exciting because I’m established and I know the ropes a little bit. But yeah, it’s a great feeling.”

There are plenty of collaborations on the album. His track, “Disrespectful,” features Mila J, the sister of up-and comer Jhene Aiko. The song, “Dead Wrong” features Ty Dolla $ign. He samples Teena Marie’s “Oh La La La.” Other songs on the album include “Na Na,” “Smartphones,” and “Change Your Mind.” Lyrics from the album include, "Ain't you tired of this life, don't you ever get bored," according to the Associated Press.

Other R&B albums from the recording artist include Trey Day, Ready, and 2012’s Chapter V.

Trigga, released on Atlantic Records, is available in stores beginning July 1.
