This week in Pop Music: Maroon 5 and Sam Smith will perform at 2014’s iTunes Festival, Hilary Duff to release a new single and a new album, Pharrell Williams’ has Miley Cyrus in new music video, and Nick Jonas’ has a new single called “Chains.”

The iTunes 2014 Festival announced some of its performers. Headline acts include big names like Pharrell Williams and Maroon 5. Sam Smith, who has been climbing up the music charts, is also among them. Can’t make it to the festival but would like a way to see the performances? Apple can help by streaming the performances on Apple devices through apps as we previously reported.
While the full lineup won’t be announced till September, here are the artists already announced.

Hilary Duff plans on making a comeback! She has announced the name of her new single and a release date for her new album. While her album won’t be out till the fall, Duff’s new single, “Chasing the Sun,” will be released on July 29 as we previously reported. This new album will follow Duff’s 2007 album Dignity.

Pharrell Williams released a new music and Miley Cyrus was there too! As we previously reported, Williams’ “Come Get it Bae” video features a song and dance number from Miley Cyrus. Williams’ song “Happy” is heard everywhere, however, the star is ready to move on from the song. Along with the release of this new video, Williams will also be a judge on The Voice. Williams has been a hot music artist this summer and it appears that he plans to stay this way.

Remember the boy band the Jonas Brothers? One of them is back but he stands alone with a new image.Complex premiered the youngest Jonas brother’s solo song “Chains.” The song is nothing like what he and his brothers have played in the past and the new song can seem a little dark. Nick Jonas, like Miley Cyrus, is shedding his Disney skin and is ready to show a different side.
