This week in Pop music: Miley Cyrus receives bad ratings for her concert special, Britney Spears’ new single called “Alien” is leaked without auto-tune, Robin Thicke’s new album is officially a flop, and Paris Hilton teases fans with a clip from her new music for “Come Alive.”
Miley Cyrus isn’t that hot pop star she used to be and her new special that premiered on NBC proved it. Only 2 million viewers tuned into Miley Cyrus Bangerz Tour which received a .07 rating among adults that are 18-49 according to Entertainment weekly. The Simpons, Family Guy, and some reality television shows pushed Cyrus’s special to the bottom of the charts says The Celebrity Café. Cyrus may not be the role model she believes she is and should take her low ratings seriously.

On July 2nd, Britney Spears’ new single, “Alien” on her up-coming album Britney Jean was leaked onto the internet. The leak had no auto-tune on Spears’ vocals and was claimed to be a warm-up track by the track producer, William Orbit. According to The Huffington Post Orbit released a statement about the warm-track on July 7th. The leaked track of “Alien” has been removed from YouTube says The Celebrity café.
Robin Thicke must have been so focused on trying to win his wife, Paula Patton, back with his latest album that he forget what albums are really for: making money. To do that, however, albums would need to be sold and Thicke’s are not selling. The U.K only sold 530 copies of Thicke’s album Paula during its first week according to Billboard. Worse than that, Thicke only sold 54 albums in Australia according to Telegraph. It would be better for Thicke’s career if the pop star can move on from Paula.

Paris Hilton is coming back to music with her new single “Come Alive.” The teaser for the music video is filled with flowers and rhinestones giving Hilton a Barbie doll look says The Celebrity Café. While Hilton’s first album was more pop, her second one will be more on the dance side. The album doesn’t have a title yet but is planned to come out later this year.
