'Real Housewives of Atlanta' star Apollo Nida sentenced to prison for fraud

Apollo Nida, husband of Bravo TV’s Phaedra Parks from The Real Housewives of Atlanta, has been sentenced to eight years in prison for fraudulent activity.

Nida works as a personal trainer in the Atlanta area and was originally arrested back in January for the possible involvement in an identity theft and fraud conspiracy.

After being busted by the US Secret service, the reality TV star allegedly cooperated with the officials throughout the investigation, landing the star 8 years in prison rather than the maximum sentence of 30 years, reports CNN.

Thomas D. Bever, Nida’s lawyer and representative, told People Magazine, “On behalf of my client Apollo, right now he feels remorse. He thought the judge was fair, and accepts his sentence, although he was hoping it would be less. By pleading guilty, Mr. Nida admits to his conduct in the past, and accepts full responsibility for it.”

The Real Housewives of Atlanta recently concluded it’s sixth season and is scheduled to return to Bravo this Fall.
