Oakland A’s shuffle struggling bullpen around

Considering they are best team in baseball, the Oakland A’s have had a shaky bullpen so far this season. They hope that their recent personnel transactions will turn this around and bolster their weakest link.
The latest move came on Thursday, when they recalled Evan Scribner and designated Jim Johnson for assignment.
Scribner most recently played for Oakland’s Triple-A affiliate in Sacramento. He was on the A’s Opening Day roster and was optioned before returning to the Big-League club from June 17-20. He made two appearances for the A’s during his first stint with the team and did not get into a game when he was with the team in June.
With Sacramento, he recorded 57 strikeouts, while only issuing seven walks in 37 2/3 innings. He posted an ERA of 3.35, according to MLB.com .
"We always keep close tabs on Scrib," manager Bob Melvin said. "He's not here all the time, but he is a part of this team."
Johnson, meanwhile, has failed to live up to expectations in his first season with the A’s. In 38 games, he has a 6.92 ERA and a 4-2 record.
Johnson, who was with the Baltimore Orioles, led the AL in saves in each of the last two seasons, amassing 51 in 2012 and 50 in 2013, reports The Associated Press .
