Joe Nichols butchers 'God Bless America' at MLB All-Star Game

Country singer Joe Nichols is getting hounded on Twitter for his mediocre performance of “God Bless America” at the MLB All-Star game on July 15th.

Nichols got his start in the country music scene when he was nominated and won the honor of New Male Vocalist at the 2013 Academy of Country Music Awards, reports Fox News.

Since the success of his debut single “Impossible,” the singer has been nominated for three Grammy Awards and has appeared on Broadway’s Pure Country (2009), says Playbill.

However, the country singer’s attempt at singing “God Bless America” did not prove to be a big hit at the anticipated game. The singer appeared nervous, his voice shaky throughout the course of the song, causing many Major League Baseball fans to become upset at the botched national song.

As Twitter continues to blow up about the terrible performance, Nichols’ newest album, Crickets, is available for purchase online.
