Cee Lo Green explains why he will not be returning to NBC's 'The Voice'

Making it’s debut in April of 2011, The Voice quickly became one of the more popular reality singing competitions. Cee Lo Green, one of the original four voice coaches on the show, left the reality show earlier this year and recently revealed his reasoning behind not returning as a coach.

The show featured Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, and Green as voice coaches who carefully selected singers to join their ‘team’, acting as mentors to the new talent throughout the course of the show.

According to TheWrap, Green reportedly quit the popular singing show because NBC had plans to fire him.

However, Green recently revealed to Us Weekly, “It easily and quickly became a job. Very, very obligating… Taxing and tiring… I still tip my hat to Adam and Blake and those guys who continuously do it, but I think I ran my course there just naturally.”

While Green will not be coming back to The Voice, the singer most recently stars in a new reality series called “The Good Life” that premiered on TBS two weeks ago.
