Britney Spears' 'Alien' has been leaked without autotune

An audio version of Britney Spears’ “Alien,” from her eighth album Britney Jean, has been leaked without Autotune.

While the singer is no stranger to lip-syncing and Autotune rumors, the audio quickly circled around the Internet as fans listen to the cracking voice of the “Perfume” singer. A similar version of Spears’ “Hold it Against Me” was released a few years ago without Autotune, however, the version of “Alien” sounds much worse in comparison.

Spears’ producer, William Orbit, released a statement on Facebook explaining the singer was warming-up and not putting in much effort to the session at that point. He writes:

“I'd like to affirm that ANY singer when first at the mic at the start of a long session can make a multitude of vocalizations in order to get warmed up. Warming up is essential if you’re a pro, as it is with a runner doing stretches, and it takes a while to do properly. I’ve heard all manner of sounds emitted during warm-ups. The point is that it is not supposed to be shared with millions of listeners.”

Unfortunately, the audio clip has since been taken off YouTube due to copyright infringement issues but many fans were able to listen to the raw version of the track, witnessing the pop star fail to hit many of notes.

Despite Britney’s Autotune and lip-syncing mishaps, fans continue to stand by her side, remembering the days when she was a teenage superstar sensation with hits including “…Baby One More Time,” “Toxic,” and “Oops!...I Did it Again.”
