‘Harry Potter’ actor Dave Legeno found dead in Death Valley

British actor and professional MMA fighter Dave Legeno was found dead in the Death Valley Desert in California this week.

The 50-year-old mixed martial arts expert and film star reportedly passed away while hiking in Death Valley as a result of “heat related issues,” according to TMZ. A group of hikers came upon Legeno’s body, which was discovered near Manly Beacon in the California desert. The actor could have been dead for three to four days prior to identification.

Aside from his career in wrestling, boxing and judo, Legeno was known for his recurring role in the Harry Potter series as the evil werewolf, Fenrir Greyback.

The Mirror reports that there appears to be no sign of foul play. Temperatures in Death Valley, CA can reach up to 120 degrees during the summer.

Harry Potter fans in particular are taking to Twitter to voice their condolences and support for the late actor. “ATTENTION POTTERHEADS,” one tweet reads. “Please raise your wands in honour, memory and respect to Dave Legeno. The greatest centaur of all times,” in reference to some of his film roles.
