Stephen King’s ‘Under the Dome’ returns to CBS

The fictional town of Maine becomes the location for the new miniseries based on the new Stephen King book, Under the Dome.

"It's an interesting challenge" picking up a plot after other writers have taken it in new directions, King said during a March interview on the set, according to the Associated Press. "I went back and looked at the last episode twice and I looked at the last scene about 15 times," he said. "Here is where Joe and the other teenagers are outside the church. Here is Barbie on the scaffold with Big Jim and Junior. What is going to happen to these people?"

In Under the Dome, a dome looms over a small town in Maine. While under the dome, some of the residents resort to survival tactics. The miniseries also features the power of nature. King’s previous work is The Shining and Storm of the Century.

According to Variety, the miniseries is filmed in Wilmington, N.C.. It stars Mike Vogel, Rachelle Lefevre, Dean Norris, and Eddie Cahill.

The CBS miniseries had great ratings last summer. The miniseries returns to CBS on Monday.
