Ohio woman dies due to head injuries from plane propeller

Sarah Rhoads, employee at Start Skydiving, has died due to injuries after she accidently walked into the propeller of a plane, while offering a pilot food.
According to Hamilton-Middletown Journal-News , On Sunday Rhoads walked onto the airport tarmac to offer a pilot food, something she did quite often. However she accidently walked into the propeller of Nouvel airplane right next to her that was running on idle. She was immediately airlifted to Miami Valley Hospital by Careflight where she remained Sunday and Monday in critical condition until she died Monday evening.
Sarah Rhoads had been working at the company, situated at the Middletown, Ohio, airport, for three years. She was frequently in contact with planes that were running idly and often warned others not to walk beyond yellow safety lines. Skydiving company owner John Hart described the tragedy as the “worst nightmare of his life”.
Hart stated that his company has never had an accident like this happen. He believes the accident happened because it is hard to see fast moving propeller blades, The Associated Press noted.
“It doesn’t get any worse than this. She was like a daughter. I loved that girl”, he said in an interview with Hamilton-Middletown Journal-News. He also mentioned that the company’s annual “Work Stinks Boogie” will be renamed the “Sarah Boogie” in honor of Rhoads.
The Federal Aviation Administration is currently investigating the accident.
