In Sunday’s pageant, Sanchez represented Nevada when she beat out the other beauty queens to become Miss USA. But, skeptics are asking if Sanchez actually ever lived in Nevada.
Critics say that her residency was phoney, according to < a href=http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2656882/Did-Miss-USA-cheat-Winner-Nia-Sanchez-hot-water-amid-claims-lied-living-Nevada-shes-hit-criticism-sexual-assault-comments.html>Daily Mail. Sanchez was quick to justify her eligibility for the crown as she competed for Miss California in 2010, 2011, and 2012.
Those “in the know” were able to explain how Sanchez was able to compete for the state of Nevada this year. According to Fox, an insider said, “She never actually moved to Nevada, but continued to work at Disney and live in California, setting up some minimum paper trail to appear like she was in Nevada and allow her to compete. Shanna Moakler is the Nevada director, and she personally coached Nia on what she needed to do to qualify in Nevada and skirt around the need to be actually from there.”
Moakler understands the rules, as she was the Miss USA in 1995. She took the prestigious job of becoming the co-director for the Nevada pageant in 2011.
