Toe Tag Riot is new project from the world of comic books. The series features the undead, focusing on a street punk band who is cursed with a zombification that transforms them whenever they perform their music.
The satirical comedy-horror story was written by Matt Miner. The art is by Sean Von Gorman. Colors are by John Rauch. The cover art is by Tristan Jones and the cover colors are by Doug Garbark. Thepunk rockers in the series journey on a cross-country tour battling adversaries until they have a showdown at The Westboro Baptist Church.
Co-creator Matt Miner told The Gazette, “The world of comics fandom (and the greater world in general) is pretty intolerant and I’m in the position, as a comic creator, to be able to call out bad behavior (homophobia, racism, sexism) in a funny “sic zombies on ‘em” kind of way.”
