Mark Ruffalo says Ben Affleck stood in the way of friendship with Jennifer Garner

No Matty and Jenna? Co-stars Mark Ruffalo and Jennifer Garner were on-screen best friends in 13 Going on 30. Unfortunately, the best friendship didn't transcend to real life, and the reason was Garner's husband Ben Affleck.

According to Us Weekly, The Normal Heart star appeared on Andy Cohen's Watch What Happens Live, on Thursday, June 26, along with his Begin Again co-star Keira Knightley.

The revelation came after a fan called the show and asked Ruffalo whether he keeps in touch with Garner, to which Ruffalo shook his head.

"We had a great time together, and I think we would, but then Ben [Affleck] came on the scene and that was the end of that," Ruffalo answered.

When host Andy Cohen joked, “I heard he doesn't allow her to have male friends,” Ruffalo's response was a shoulder shrug, reports The New York Daily News.

“I made that part up,” Cohen said, to which Ruffalo said he wouldn't deny nor confirm.

13 Going on 30 came out in April 2004, the same year Garner and Affleck went public with their relationship.
