Lindsay Lohan to star in David Mamet’s ‘Speed-the-Plow’

Lindsay Lohan will be starring the David Mamet play, Speed the Plow, in London.

In the play, Charlie Fox and Bobby Gould decide to give the green light to a new play. Lohan will play Karen, an ambitious secretary, in Mamet’s play about two Hollywood producers. This role was played by Madonna in the original 1988 production. This is a departure for the celebrity known for her film roles.

The London production will be directed by Lindsay Posner The limited engagement will begin on September 24 and run through November 30, according to Broadway.com. The show will take place at London’s Playhouse Theatre. It previously showed in London in 1989, and was revived in the West End in 2000.

Lohan was known for her roles in Mean Girls and Freaky Friday. A more recent movie was The Canyons. On the small screen, Lohan has been seen in That 70’s Show, Ugly Betty, and Glee.

According to the Associated Press, the celebrity has battled drug and alcohol, and was featured in her own reality TV show.
