Barry Gibb played a concert on Wednesday for the final stop on his Mythology Tour.
His solo concerts bring to the stage the work he made with his late brothers, Robin and Maurice. According to Paste Magazine, Gibb has survived his brothers, Andy in 1988, Maurice in 2003, and Robin in 2012. Gibb remembered his brothers during the 2/1/2 hour show, according to the Los Angeles Times. Gibb also performed “Guilty,” the duet that he originally played with Barbra Streisand.
Gibb’s current Mythology Tour features his son Stephen on guitar with an 11-piece band, and Maurice’s daughter Samantha on vocals. She sang on the song, “How Can You Mend a Broken Heart.”
Gibb is a prolific and successful songwriter. He is a fellow at the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors. He was a member of the Bee Gees, and is known for the songs, “Stayin’ Alive,” the hit that launched about 15 million copies. Other popular Gibb songs include “Love is Thicker Than Water” and “Night Fever.” Gibb is also known for writing the number one song, Islands in the Stream.
