On Monday, U.S. women’s soccer goalkeeper Hope Solo is scheduled to appear in court. The soccer star will be speaking to a domestic violence arrest that took place in Kirkland, Washington near Seattle.

Police responded to a 911 call. Authorities that Solo was inebriated, and attacked her family members. According to officers who handled the arrest, Solo was charged with assaulting her sister and 17-year old nephew. Solo was arrested after the altercation. She was arrested on two counts of fourth degree domestic violence assault, before she appeared in court in Kirkland.
Solo has hired an attorney to represent her. Attorney Todd Maybrown says that she was a victim in the dispute.
"Hope is not guilty of any crime," said Todd Maybrown in an e-mailed statement, according to The Chicago Tribune. "In fact, our investigation reveals that Hope was assaulted and injured during this unfortunate incident. We look forward to the opportunity to present the true facts in court and to having this matter behind Hope very soon."
Solo was a soccer star when she attended the University of Washington. Two played with the U.S. women’s national team and won two gold medals. She also plays with the Seattle Reign of the National Women's Soccer League, according to the Associated Press.
