'Designing Women' star Meshach Taylor dies at age 67

Actor Meshach Taylor who starred in the movie Designing Women dies at the age of 67 on Saturday, June 28 after fighting with cancer.

According to Hollywood Reporter, the actor's agent, Anthony Bouvier revealed the news to the Hollywood Reporter. He passed away in his in his family's house in Altadena, California. His family posted a feed on his Facebook page saying, "It is with love and gratitude that we sorrowfully announce that our darling, amazingly brilliant and dynamic Meshach, the incredible father, husband, son and friend, has begun his grand transition." Meshach got nominated for an Emmy for playing the role of an outstanding supporting actor in a 1989 comedy. He also featured on Dave's World. The story was about the life of Dave Barry, a Miami columnist,. In the movie, Taylor starred as Barry's best friend from high school, as well as a plastic surgeon.

LA Times reported that Taylor is survived by his wife Bianca of 30 years. He is also survived by his daughters Yasmine, Tamar and Esme, as well as his son, Tariq, his sister Judy, and his brother Hussein.
Taylor was in severe pain and was terminally sick. A week ago, he travelled to Indiana with his children for his mother', Hertha Taylor's 100 year birthday.
