Actors Paul Giamatti and Jason Isaacs are celebrating their birthdays today.

Actor Paul Giamatti turns 47 today. Giamatti began to earn critical acclaim after his lead role in the film American Splendor. In 2004, he gained mainstream recognition and fame with the independent romantic comedy Sideways, earning a Golden Globe nomination and an Independent Spirit Award for his role. Giamatti went on to appear in Cinderella Man, for which he earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor. He was also nominated for a Golden Globe and won the Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture. In 2006, Giamatti was the lead in M. Night Shyamalan's Lady in the Water, followed by the animated film The Ant Bully, and Neil Burger's drama The Illusionist.
In 2013, Giamatti starred in Shakespeare's Hamlet at the Yale University Theater in New Haven. He also had supporting roles in several movies such as Turbo, The Congress, Parkland, Saving Mr. Banks and the critically acclaimed 12 Years a Slave. Giamatti also had a role in the 2013 Christmas special of the fourth season of Downton Abbey.
Giamatti has been married to Elizabeth Giamatti since 1997. They have a son, Samuel Paul. Giamatti was most recently seen playing the villain Rhino in The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
Jason Isaacs, 51

Film, television and theater actor Jason Isaacs turns 51 today. Isaacs is best known for his role as the Death Eater, Lucius Malfoy, in the Harry Potter films. He has also played the brutal Colonel William Tavington in The Patriot and criminal Michael Caffee in the television series Brotherhood.
Isaacs' theater roles includes Tony Kushner's Pulitzer Prize-winning play Angels in America: A Gay Fantasia on National Themes, and in Harry Burton's 2007 critically acclaimed 50th-anniversary revival of Nobel Laureate Harold Pinter's 1957 two-hander The Dumb Waiter at Trafalgar Studios.
Issacs has been married to BBC documentary filmmaker, Emma Hewitt, since 1988 and have two daughters. He starred in the NBC drama Awake as Detective Michael Britten from March to May 2012. In 2014, Isaacs played Roman Castavet in the two-part NBC miniseries Rosemary's Baby.
