Cameron Crowe is known for his work on the silver screen. Director of films such as Signles, Jerry Maguire, and Almost Famous, the Hollywood helmer has yet to make a crossover into television.
That may soon change, however, as Nikki Finke reports, J.J. Abram's Bad Robot Productions is looking to Crowe to create a comedy series.
Not much is known of the series, other than it will be an ensemble comedy set on a rock tour, which makes Crowe's involvement make all the more sense. Crowe started out as a rock writer for Rolling Stone, and Almost Famous was based on his time spent on tour with the Allman Brothers Band when he was 16 years old.
The current title of the show is Roadies, and it will be produced for Showtime. It's expected to begin shooting before the year is out.
It appears winter will be a busy time for Crowe. Aside from shooting his new show, he's set to premier his next film, which stars Emma Stone, Bradley Cooper, and Rachel McAdams.
