Many women of today grew up watching Disney Movies. Though these movies are generally gender mutual, girls tend to idolize Disney Princesses. If you walk around stores like Hot Topic, you will see Disney Princess merchandise. That being said, Disney Princesses are here to stay. Many parents and viewers do not see the negative impacts these characters are having on young women’s expectations of men and society. There are character flaws that make them terrible role models. Disney films are a staple in most homes. Early on, young girls learn how princesses have their happily ever after. There is a problem. These young women make bad choices to get what they want and do not endure the consequences of their actions. It makes you wonder what would really happen to these ladies.
Can’t imagine it? This video should help kick things off. Enjoy!

10. Changing Yourself for a Man
Ariel has a beautiful voice, amazing read hair, and a natural curiosity for learning and enlightenment. She thinks none of these things are good enough for Eric. I get that she is a mermaid. This makes things complicated for them, but she doesn't give him a chance to prove her wrong. Instead she basically sells herself to a woman to become a human. Plus, she is only given 3 days to win him over with her looks. Realistically, he probably would have used her and married a woman with more personality. Believe it or not, looks eventually fade. Good relationships need more than sex.

9. Switching Places with Your Father
Belle is my favorite Disney princess, but even I had to call her out. Why would you trade your life for your father's? You should have notified the police or organized a search party? I know you embarrassed a public figure, but going alone was the worst thing you could have done this guy is a beast! If this really happened, you wouldn't be dancing in a grand ballroom. You would probably be on an episode of Dateline Saturday on TLC. You wouldn't be the one talking....

Jasmine, did you really think that was the best thing you could have come up with? I know your dad is setting up an arranged marriage, but at least he is letting you chose the suitor. You know how lucky you are. You’re in Saudi Arabia. In your culture, he doesn't have to consult you at all. If you ran away and hung out with that street rat, you would have lost your hand for stealing that Apple. Good luck, explaining that to your father.

Cinderella gets underneath my skin because she doesn't act. She dreams about the life she wants, but does nothing to improve her situation. Through the whole movie she is helped by seamstress mice, a fairy God mother, rescuer mice, and a royal official. If this really happened, the Prince would have met someone else. She would still be sitting in a corner waiting for her circumstances to change. Honesty, she would probably turn into a spinster.

6. Desperate For Love
To protect her from Maleficent, Aurora is taken by three fairies to a quant cabin in the forest. She has no human interaction and no one to relate to. So, she is very vulnerable and innocent. Fortunately for her, the smooth talking Prince she meets is her fiancé. At this point, she would have been won over by any man. In this situation, the man could have taken advantage of her, or she could have stuck by this man's side no matter what he did to her. Hey, what are the chances she will meet someone else? She has been alone for 15 years!

Tiana is the most modern and progressive princess in the Disney franchise, but her prince is the worst one. Basically, he is looking for a wealthy woman, who wants a royal title. She also has to be somewhat foolish and naive, as well as, someone who is not going to dig for information. Instead, he turns Tiana into a frog. If you leave out the frog transformation, she decides to be with someone who has nothing to bring to the table. Instead of being equals in the relationship, he is going along with her dreams. In the long run, their marriage would most likely end with divorce. His lack of ambition and goals for his life would make him look inferior to her. A princess like this needs someone that can walk beside her.

4. Living Alone With Seven Men
I don't care that they are dwarfs. They are still men with desires and needs. There are seven of them and one of her. Plus, she has nowhere to go. Though her presence is a danger to them, they are willing to keep her cause she can "take care" of them. Since, she doesn't have anywhere to go; she has to earn her keep. The Prince doesn't find her until she is poisoned. So, if the Queen never found her, she would be an indentured servant for these men.

Sorry, Jasmine. You are on the list again. Sometimes people have a tendency to use their assets to get what they want. Jasmine uses her body to distract Jafar. Though the situation called for it, Jafar most likely expected "one on one" time with her. If this really happened Jasmine might not have left the situation with her virtue.

Consent is not needed in Sleeping Beauty and Snow White. Their men can do what they want to their women. I know that, true loves kiss breaks the sleeping curse. However, wouldn't you find it creepy that you woke up to someone on top of you? Literally, you have absolutely no idea who it is. They should have fought the guy off. I won't even get into what could have happened, I believe you get the idea...

1. You Can Change a Man
Belle is the worst offender on this list, because she reinforces investing time into changing men in to suitable companions. If she wanted to change someone so badly, she should have tried Gaston. At least he is not an animal. Beast is not nice to her at all in the beginning. As time passes she changes him into a harmless oversized teddy bear. Countless women waste time trying to change the bad boy to the marrying type, the lazy guy to a go getter, and a vain guy into a man that actually cares about them. Most of the time, the person will change and find someone else. If this really happened, Beast would have ran off with another Disney Princess leaving Gaston to pick up the pieces.
