Top 10 Best Dressed at the White House Correspondents Dinner

The 100th Annual White House Correspondents' Association Dinner was Saturday night and the stars were out looking their brightest to see President Obama and Joel McHale speak.

The White House Correspondents’ Dinner is an annual tradition in which the president and the press are friendly to each other. The dinner is a place to acknowledge award winners and present scholarships to citizens and the press. It is a fun evening for the president to poke fun at himself and the press. They typical bring in a comedian, this year was McHale’s turn, to entertain the crowd.

While the dinner is to honor the press corps and the actual White House Correspondents’ Association, it seems that this year was a year for celebrities to attend. The cast of Scandal attended. The cast of Frozen attended. It was as if the red carpet was more important then the traditional dinner. The red carpet was filled with limited press and plenty of celebrities.

With the excess of celebrities, there were plenty of best-dressed women. The dresses ranged from long and exciting to simple and bold. The color choice of the evening seemed to be either black or red. While there were many beautifully dressed celebrities, these ten ladies stood out above the rest.

It looks like blue is the new orange as Orange is the New Black star, Taylor Schilling, wears a gorgeous blue dress to the dinner. She stuns in a long dress with a cut out middle.

Keltie Knight, a correspondent for The Insider, looked beautiful at the dinner. She wore a light red, long dress with a sweetheart neckline. She was one of many celebrities wearing red but hers was a lighter, more unique shade.

The First Lady of the United States looked absolutely wonderful at her fifth WHCD. Her Marchesa gown was an off the shoulder and shimmering white. It is one of her best from the previous years. Plus, double points for those huge earrings.

Julianna Margulies kept things simple for the WHCD. A simple black dress was perfect for the evening. She didn’t over accessorize and went without a necklace. The dress was the perfect mix of class and sass.

While I’m not sure exactly what Jessica Simpson does besides be a Weight Watchers spokesperson, she did look great at the WHCD. The black and white dress showed off her weight loss in the best way possible. Only downside is her hair. She could have done something better with it.

Munn’s look is either to be loved or hated. I loved it. Her J Mendel crème gown looked perfect on her. It hits her in all of the right place. The hidden designs throughout it are just cute. And that clutch just pulls the whole look together.

America’s newest sweetheart (Sorry J-Law!) was stunning at the dinner. It was simple and youthful. Her Oscar de la Renta gown was whimsical and sweet. While her dress was black and white, Lupita’s pink lipstick was the perfect pop of color to complete the look.
