Tom Petty is planning a tour for his new album, Hypnotic Eye.
Petty recently shared his thoughts on the new record. The recording artist told Rolling Stone, "I knew I wanted to do a rock & roll record...We hadn't made a straight hard-rockin' record, from beginning to end, in a long time.”
Tom Petty, 63, has previously released Wildflowers, Echo, and Mojo. The new album was recorded in his home studio in Malibu. Petty worked on the record with keyboard player Benmont Tench, bassist Ron Blair, drummer Steve Ferrone, multi-instrumentalist Scott Thurston, and producers Petty, Campbell, and Ryan Ulyate. Among the 11 tracks on the album, Hypnotic Eye has songs like "American Dream Plan B" and "Faultlines.” The album is set to be released on July 29 on Reprise Records.
The tour is planned for the Summer and Fall. Tickets for the upcoming tour will go on sale on May 31, according to the LA Times. Steve Winwood will be the opening act for Petty. The tour will stop in Los Angeles, and the band will be performing at the Honda Center date in Anaheim.
