A possible Inception reunion could be on the horizon, if this casting rumor is to be believed, as Tom Hardy could soon be joining Leonardo DiCaprio in Alejandro González Iñárritu's The Revenant.
Schomoes Knows are spreading another rumor this week, saying that Tom Hardy is "in serious talks" to star in the film with DiCaprio. No word has been said as to which part Hardy would be playing, but it is believed that he will be taking over for Sean Penn, who was once attached to the film with DiCaprio before dropping out.
Production on the film is scheduled to start in September. As Hardy's next commitment is on the TV series Taboo, which doesn't start until early 2015, it is feasible that he could fit the movie into his schedule.
Based on the book by Michael Punke, the movie will follow Hugh Glass (DiCaprio), a 19th century fur trapped who gets mauled by a bear, left for dead and then robbed. Surviving against the odds, he sets out revenge against those who set him wrong.
DiCaprio is coming off his Academy-award nominated turn in The Wolf of Wall Street. Hardy, meanwhile, was just seen in Locke, and will soon be seen The Drop and Child 44 later this year.
Iñárritu also has his latest movie Birdman set to be released on October 17.
