Stand Up and Say Now 'Assuming Loyal' Review

Sometimes we need to take a step back from our passions to gain perspective and rejuvenate ourselves. Life without balance can leave individuals feeling overwhelmed and drowned by their desires. Andre Naulte, founder of Stand Up and Say No, had to take a step back from music for a while. Now, the Canadian Indie Rock Band, Stand Up and Say No released Loyal Tuesday, May 6, 2014. The Extended Play has four songs. Three of the four songs resonated with me. His songs are innovative, because he is a songwriter and producer. By having experience in different positions, Andre Naulte was able to create specific scenes and emotions for each song.

“I Will Find You” makes me think of Charming and Snow’s relationship. In Once Upon A Time, it seems like they spend more time trying to find each other instead of being together. This song would make a nice Once Upon A Time fan tribute video to their relationship.
“We Only Have Now” is about being in the moment. People have a tendency to over analyze every situation they find themselves in. It is important to let go. Based on the lyrics, the setting of the song takes place in a club. If they did a video, I could see them following John Mayer’s music video “Who Says” vibe.
“We Push Through” depicts a couple. Relationships are rocky. If both people are willing, they can get through anything. This is where the chorus kicks in. Both lay across from each other silently making a commitment to keep going. If you’re a couple that shares how you feel through lyrics. This would be a good song to send on a bad day. You are letting the other know, things may not be great right now, but you are willing to keep going.
Overall, Loyal has mellow vocals with thought out lyrics. It is not a head banger Extended Play, but who says it has to be. Rock is just as versatile as any music genre. Stand Up and Say No is on Facebook and Twitter
