On Monday May 19, Oscar-winning Actress Sandra Bullock surprised Warren Easton High School in New Orleans with a commencement speech at their graduation ceremony, according to [USATODAY] , which was a shock to the students and parents in attendance.
Warren Easton High School is a charter school, which Bullock has adopted since Hurricane Katrina struck New Orleans in 2005. It is estimated she has donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to Warren Easton High.
Due to her time and effort spent helping the charter school, Bullock was honored with the first-ever Favorite Humanitarian Award at the 2013 People’s choice awards in Los Angeles.
The graduation ceremony was held at the University of New Orleans Lakefront Arena. She spoke to the students of Warren Easton High with the best intentions in mind.
"I didn't remember anything, because I was so worried about the future." Stop worrying so much. I don't remember any of the moments in my life where I worried. Raise the bar higher. Nothing is a failure, it's just not supposed to work out," said Bullock, reported by [Eonline] .
Despite staring in movies such as “The Blind Side”, “The Proposal”, and “Gravity” Bullock has not forgotten about New Orleans and the damage Hurricane Katrina caused nearly a decade ago.
