Meek Mill's racial profiling lawsuit denied by Philadelphia jury

This week a Philadelphia jury ruled against rapper Robert Williams a.k.a. Meek Mill in his racial profiling lawsuit against the city’s police department.

MTV reports that Meek arrived at a federal court Monday to protest a civil rights violation for an October 2012 traffic incident, during which the MGM rapper was arrested and unfairly held for hours. Officers on the scene claimed that a sniffer dog smelled marijuana in the vehicle, then proceeded to arrest Meek and three of his accomplishes, despite no drugs being found or charges filed.
Meek told the courtroom, “In neighborhoods like where I come from, four black males in a car . . . we’re always being asked to be searched.”
According to Philly.com, the 26 year old rapper sued for $400,000 in damages for having to missing his Dreams and Nightmares album release party. The jury ruled against him Thursday, claiming "Although we voted unanimously that Mr. Williams'... rights were not violated, we feel strongly both the plaintiff and defendant were in the wrong and made mistakes.”

Later on it was revealed that one of the arresting officers was previously caught up in a lie with Internal Affairs agents over another traffic stop incident.
