Athlete Kevin Garnett and rapper Yo Gotti are celebrating their birthdays today.

Kevin Garnett, 38

Professional basketball player Kevin Garnett Turns 38 today. Garnett was a 1995 McDonald's All-American at Farragut Career Academy and won a national player of the year award in high school. He entered the 1995 NBA Draft and was selected 5th overall by the Minnesota Timberwolves. He became the first NBA player drafted directly out of high school in 20 years.

Garnett led the Minnesota Timberwolves to eight-consecutive playoff appearances. In 2004, He led the Timberwolves to the Western Conference Finals and won the NBA Most Valuable Player Award. Since his second season in the NBA, Garnett has been named to 15 All-Star Games, winning the All-Star MVP award in 2003, and is currently tied for 2nd-most All-Star selections in NBA history. He was awarded the NBA Defensive Player of the Year title in the 2007–08 season.

After spending 12 seasons with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Garnett was traded to the Boston Celtics in 2007. In his first year with the Celtics, he helped lead them to their first NBA championship since 1986, and brought them to the NBA finals in 2010 and 2-12. In 2013, Garnett was traded to the Brooklyn Nets alongside long-time Celtic Paul Pierce.

Garnett surpassed 14,000 career rebounds, becoming only the tenth player in NBA history to do so. Garnett joined Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Karl Malone as the only players to reach 25,000 points, 14,000 rebounds and 5,000 assists.

Yo Gotti, 33

Rapper Yo Gotti turns 33 today. Born Mario Mims, Yo Gotti began his music career around the age of 14, rapping as Lil Yo. Between 2000 and 2006, Yo Gotti released a few independent albums including From Da Dope Game 2 Da Rap Game, Self-Explanatory(/i>, Life and Back 2 da Basics. He released his major label debut studio album Live From The Kitchen in January 2012.

In 2013, Gotti announced that he and his label, CMG, had signed a deal with Epic Records from business partner L.A. Reid. He released his sixth studio album, I Am, in November 2013, and his tour ran from September 14, 2013, until November 19, 2013.

Yo Gotti collaborated with artists including T.I, J. Cole, Young Jeezy, YG and Lil Wayne.
