Musician Bono, and actor Kenan Thompson are celebrating their birthdays today.
Bono, 54
Irish singer-songwriter, musician, businessman, and philanthropist Bono turns 54 today. Born Paul David Hewson, Bono is best known as the front runner for the rock band U2. Bono writes almost all of the lyrics for U2's songs, and frequently incorporates religious, social, and political themes.
Outside of U2, Bono has worked with artists including Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Sinéad O'Connor, Green Day, Kirk Franklin, Wyclef Jean, and Kylie Minogue.
Bono is also widely known for his activism concerning Africa. He co-founded DATA, EDUN, the ONE Campaign and Product Red. He has met with several politicians and has played for several benefit concerts. He was granted a knighthood by Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom, and had been made a Commandeur of the French Ordre des Arts et des Lettres (Order of Arts and Letters).
Bono is married to Alison Hewson, and have four children together.
Kenan Thompson, 36
Actor and comedian Kenan Thompson turns 36 today. Thompson began acting at age 15. One of his earliest roles include an entertainment reporter for CNN's Real News for Kids. He went on to star in Nickelodeon's All-That and Kenan & Kel.
Thompson appeared in several films including D2: The Mighty Ducks, Good Burger, Fat Albert, Heavyweights, D3: The Mighty Ducks, Love Don't Cost a Thing, Barbershop 2: Back in Business and Snakes on a Plane. Thompson had a recurring role with Kel Mitchel on The Steve Harvey show.
In 2003, Thompson joined the cast of Saturday Night Live as a featured actor, and joined the regular cast in 2005.
Thompson is married to model Christina Evangeline, and are expecting their first child.
