Mario Kart 8 is coming to Wii U, but it is only available for preorder. The game will release May 30, 2014. If you register Mario Kart 8 with Club Nintendo before July 30, 2014, you can get a bonus downloadable game. The four downloadable games are The Legend of Zelda WindWaker HD, Wii U Party, Pikmin 3, and New Super Mario Bros. U.
Even without this added bonus, people would still preorder this game. One reason the Mario Kart series is successful, is because players are able to use stock characters from Mario World. Also, the need to keep the series alive has brought new characters to the race. Some of which have had spin off games. For example, Daisy and Waluigi did not exist in the first two Mario Kart games. They made their appearance in Double Dash. To appeal to a young crowd, baby versions of a few characters made it into the race way as well. Most of the characters that have emerged since the first Mario Kart, will be in Mario Kart 8. 10 of those characters made it into the Mario Kart Series Top 10!

Waluigi is one of those characters that did not have a game before Double Dash. He is an option on other games like Mario Party. Waluigi has only made several appearances in the Mario Kart series.

Donkey Kong is a power house character. He has been in every Mario Kart game. Occasionally, Diddy Kong is with him. He is a popular Nintendo Figure in his own right.

I know that is it blasphemy having Mario ranked so low in this list. Personally, I don’t use him a lot. He is not the strongest racer in series. He is the figured head.

I am amused by Wario. Since he has more girth than Mario and Luigi, he is harder to push around. Plus his tracks are always difficult.
