Pakistani government releases 13 non-combat Taliban as good faith in peace talks

The Pakistani government has made the decision to release 13 non-combat Taliban prisoners as a sign of faith towards the terrorist group, who they are discussing peace talks with, until they conduct another peace talk, in which 30 prisoners will be released.

Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has said that the Taliban will be expected to reciprocate by releasing non-combatants, according to Business Standard.

Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam, who is known as the “Father of Taliban” in the west said that the real peace talks have yet to begin, and that these talks are only confidence building measures, according to Dawn.

Some of the non-combat Taliban members that were release were on the list of 400 names that the Taliban demanded to be released.

In the second round of peace talks, the government and Taliban will discuss important issues that remain.

The cease fire that was agreed upon will be upheld until April 10.
The second round of peace talks should be held in the next two or three days.
