New York Knicks head coach Mike Woodson is taking responsibility for the team's bad season.
ESPN reports that Woodson is taking the blame for the Knicks not making the playoffs this season. Woodson says, "I mean, you can point the fingers in a lot of directions. And I'm not going to sit here and air that out. I mean, at the end of the day I'm the coach and I didn't get it done. It's just that simple." Last season the Knicks had a spectacular season by winning 54 games and many people had high expectations for the team this season. However, the Knicks weren't able to keep up the hype from last year. The New York Daily New reveals how the Knicks were eliminated from getting into the playoffs after the Atlanta Hawks beat the Miami Heat 98-83 on Saturday, April 12.
Now that their season is coming to an end the Knicks have some major off-season issues to deal with. As per Newsday, the Knicks might lose star player Carmelo Anthony who is going to be a free agent and might leave the Knicks to go to another team. Knicks foward Amar'e Stoudemire claims that the pressure the Knicks were under this season to be as good as they were last season was unfair. Stoudemire says, "On paper, we might be the best team in the league. We've got great players on this team who accomplished so much. We just couldn't put it together."
Here is a video of Knicks president Phil Jackson saying how he hopes to build a team around Carmelo Anthony:
