Legendary recording artist Prince returns to Warner Bros.

Prince is returning to Warner Bros. records, in time for the 30th anniversary of the album, Purple Rain.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Prince said in a statement, "A brand-new studio album is on the way and both Warner Bros Records and Eye (sic) are quite pleased with the results of the negotiations and look forward to a fruitful working relationship.”

As part of the deal, Prince’s visionary album, Purple Rain, will be released again in deluxe version just in time for the 30th anniversary of the movie as well as the album.

There was much publicity when Prince left Warner Bros. in 1996. The recording artist changed his name to a symbol and took Warner Bros. to task, saying that he felt like a slave to the label.

The Warner Music Group is not commenting on the details of the deal. According to Billboard, Warner Bros. Records chairman and CEO Cameron Strang said in a statement: "Everyone at Warner Bros Records is delighted to be working with Prince once again: he is one of the world's biggest stars and a truly unique talent."
