At Elizabeth’s house, Obrecht was confident Britt would be released soon. Nikolas arrived to talk and refused to leave. Obrecht took the baby to lie down and instructed Elizabeth to get rid of Nikolas and no funny stuff. Elizabeth opened the door but wouldn’t let Nikolas in. Obrecht listened in as Nikolas told Elizabeth about the kidnapping. He begged to come in saying that she was his oldest friend and he should have been grateful to her but he that he lashed out instead. Elizabeth begged him to leave, saying she wasn’t feeling well, but he couldn’t believe she wouldn’t listen to his apology. She then relented and let him in, but fidgeted as he apologized. He then said that he hoped she could forgive him. She agreed and tried to rush him out. Obrecht then gripped a gun and made a noise. Nikolas then realized that someone else was there and assumed it was Ric. Before he left, Elizabeth grabbed him and told him to tell Lulu that everything was going to be okay. After he left, Obrecht was upset about Nikolas sniffing around after breaking Britt’s heart and then asked who Ric was.
At GH, Sam had an idea about how to bring Ava down. She thought the key was Nakamura, the pharmacist, and she wanted Ava to think that he could still implicate her. After she laid out her plan Nathan was impressed, but Silas wanted to know how to feed Ava the false story and Sam suggested enlisting Julian’s help.
Meanwhile, Tracy found Kiki and told her that “Luke” told her Kiki had made a pass at him. Kiki set her straight and said “Luke” was the one who made a pass at her. Tracy thought that was ridiculous but Kiki stood by her story. Then, Silas scared Tracy off. Kiki then told Silas that Tracy didn’t like what her fiancé did behind her back. He then told Kiki that Nina had passed away and they hugged before she returned to Michael.
Meanwhile, Ava was nervous about the Silas’ murder mystery. Sonny asked Ava if she killed Silas’ wife and she told him that they had bigger things to worry about. He told her that he was worried that Monica was on to him, that he has promised Michael that he wouldn’t kill AJ and how he had four children, but Michael was the only one who grew up with him. Sonny then wept as he talked about raising Michael from a little boy and went on to say that he was tortured about breaking his word. Meanwhile, AJ crashed in ICU while Monica pumped his chest. AJ then flatlined and they called time of death. Monica then went to AJ and stroked her son’s hair. Carly lead Michael out of the room and told him that AJ wanted Michael to know he loved him. She then held him and told him how sorry she was. He then went back to AJ and Carly left to find Sonny.
“Luke” visited Julian at the gallery and told him that today was the day they would put Sonny out of business. He then dropped a package of drugs on the table and said they would be selling a higher quality Columbian product than Sonny’s coffee beans. They then discussed how much Sonny hated drugs and cut out people who would even bring them into his turf. Julian thought there were other ways to make money but “Luke” wasn’t budging. He then rolled up a dollar bill for them both to taste the merchandise. “Luke” indulged, but Julian declined. “Luke” told him it wasn’t optional. Just then Sam entered. She was surprised to see “Luke,” who acted as if he was shopping for art for Tracy. He hit on Sam a bit and then Julian got him to leave. Once they were alone, Sam noted “Luke’s” strange behavior and told Julian that she needed his help to prove that Ava murdered Nina. He agreed to help any way he could.
Madeline went to see Nathan at the PCPD and told him that the most important thing was that Silas paid for what he did to Nina. Nathan then told her about his doubts and how Silas had said from the beginning that Ava was at fault and that he signed the papers she asked him to. Madeline didn’t think that meant that he didn’t try to kill Nina to be with Ava. He then told Madeline that Ava could really be Nina’s killer and that he had something in the works to prove it.
“Luke” found Tracy at the hospital and she told him that she confronted Kiki about making a pass at him, but that Kiki said that he was the one who had made a pass at her. He laughed and couldn’t imagine why she would say anything else. He then called Kiki a liar.
Meanwhile, Ava told Sonny that there were plenty of things she regretted doing as she thought about shooting and killing Connie. Then, Carly found them and told them that AJ was dead. Carly then asked for a moment alone with Sonny and told him that AJ woke up right before he flatlined and told her that he shot him.
Later, Silas went to the chapel and promised to get justice for Nina.
Kiki found Monica in tears and held her while she cried about losing AJ. Later, Michael told AJ that he loved him and that whoever did this to him would pay.
Over the loud speaker male and female voices paged Dr. Steve Hardy and Dr. Alan Quartermaine as the camera panned across their old photos into an empty GH. Then, Monica walked in from the elevator and talked to herself about emotional detachment and how the deaths of a loved ones doesn't get any easier. She then went to AJ and held his lifeless body. Nearby, Carly (Laura Wright) told Sonny that AJ said he shot him and that she believed AJ because Sonny wasn’t denying it.
Meanwhile, Monica said goodbye to AJ as Emily's ghost appeared. Monica told her that she had mourned the death of her husband, Alan, her son, Jason, and her daughters, Dawn and Emily and now she wanted to be with them. Emily replied that she always is. Monica argued that she had no fight left, but Emily yelled that she was as strong as they come. Monica then said that she just wished AJ was now at peace since he never was when he was alive. Then, AJ's ghost appeared, told Monica that he was, that she had given him a second chance at life, had protected him and that he'd be forever grateful. Then, they hugged. She wanted to go with them, but they refused to let her because her grandchildren needed her. She didn't want to let Tracy have the whole house to herself, did she? Monica finally agreed to tough it out but asked AJ to tell her who shot him. He said that it was complicated but when the truth finally did come out, she'd be proud. She replied that she already was. They said goodbye and Emily and AJ’s ghosts met Alan, Edward and Lila’s ghosts before following them into the light.
Sonny dragged Carly somewhere private and confessed that he had shot AJ. He then asked her if she had forgotten that AJ killed their unborn child. He flashed back to Carly falling down the stairs and being in the hospital. When he came back to reality, he saw Sarah Brown as Carly, sitting beside him and she said that she remembered everything. With tears in her eyes, she said it was one of the worst things that had ever happened to her. They then flashed back to their wedding and Sonny's "death." She said, "When your heart stopped, my heart stopped,” but he came back to her! They then reminisce about Carly setting him up and Tamara Braun now appeared as Carly. They then flashed back to their divorce and agreed that it wasn't the end for them. They then remembered when they learned Michael had "died." Then, Laura Wright returned as Carly returns and said that Sonny gave her the courage to get better after her nervous breakdown. Sonny blinked for a second when Wright reappeared. She asked him if he was okay and he said he was. She then said that she would always have his back even if their love story was over. In tears, Sonny asked her to keep the fact that he shot and killed AJ quiet. Carly replied that she needed time to think.
At The Floating Rib, Felicia couldn't believe that in 51 years they had never shut down the Port Charles bridge until now. She blamed the mayor and Mac told her that she should run for mayor. She had Kevin's vote he said. Then, Lucy flashed to Scott telling her to choose him or Kevin. Talk then turned to the Nurses' Ball and Kevin promised to help this year. Then, Mac mentioned dusting off Mr. Marbles, creating a new act and he asked if they wanted to hear it? They said 'NO' in stereo. The guys then went off to get drinks and Lucy admitted to Felicia that Scott had given her an ultimatum but that she loved both men! The men returned and Lucy couldn't breathe and dashed off.
Bobbie headed into Kelly's to see Scott and started bawling, "Everything has gone to pot." She then told Scott that she and Noah had just broken up over the phone and that he told her that he had fallen for someone else and had been cheating on her with his old flame, Audrey Hardy's niece, Nurse Annie Logan. "The virgin?" Scott asked. "Hah. Not so virginal anymore," Bobbie snarked. She then wished Anne would have kept her hands off of her boyfriend. Scott defended the "homewrecker" and confessed that he was one too. He tried to take it back, but Bobbie guessed he'd been with Lucy. He told her it' wasn’t just a fling. They then agreed it had to stop. He then told Bobbie that he had given Lucy an ultimatum but hadn't heard back yet. Just then,
Lucy burst in and dragged Scott outside. Nervously, she said she had made a decision. She was staying with Kevin. Scott was heartbroken, told her that they couldn't just be friends. She cried and he kissed her goodbye.
Lucy headed back to The Floating Rib feeling much better. She then told Kevin that she was where she belonged.
Nathan called Dante to tell him he'd had no luck finding Ben. Lulu ran into the PCPD and worried about Ben. Dante was reassuring. They then noticed that Britt had been brought up from the cells. Then, Diane appeared. Dante and Lulu weren't thrilled to see her. Diane explained that Obrecht had retained her to represent Britt. She had been on vacation with Max and had no idea what had been going on so they gave her a newspaper. Once she was filled in, Diane declared that Britt had done nothing illegal. Lulu ranted, but Diane said that “misappropriating embryos” wasn't a crime. Lulu ranted more when Diane explained the law to them. Dante then refused to release Britt so Diane left to get a court order. Meanwhile, Britt apologized to the couple, which didn't go over well. Diane returned with an order demanding her client's release and Lulu ran away in tears.
At Kelly's, Jordan worried to TJ and Shawn about AJ's killer still being on the loose. Then, Sonny strolled in and called Shawn away. They headed into the kitchen and Sonny told Shawn that Carly knew that he shot AJ. Meanwhile, Jordan worried about Sonny being a bad influence and then told TJ that he was everything to her, which was why she was getting a job and sticking around. She then spotted a job ad and headed out. When Shawn returned, TJ told him that his mom is sticking around. Shawn warned him not to put too much stock in what Jordan said, which confused TJ.
A shirtless Nathan answered his door to find Sam and Silas. They showed him the article they had Julian plant in the paper about Nakamura still being alive. Sam and Silas thought it will lure Ava right into their trap. Nathan thought so too.
At Elizabeth's breakfast table, Obrecht was disgusted by the fact that Elizabeth fed her kids Fruit Loops, even if though she found them surprisingly delicious. Elizabeth then told Obrecht that she was sure that someone must be looking for her, but Obrecht replied that no one was interested and then shows her the article about AJ’s death in the paper. Elizabeth was distraught, but the Obrecht told her to save “the crocodile tears,” since she dumped AJ once he was accused of killing Connie Falconeri. "Lady, you know nothing about me or my relationship with AJ!" Elizabeth angrily replies. Then, Obrecht changed the subject and explained that Britt and Ben would soon have a new life in a distant paradise. Then, Lulu started knocking on the door.
Ava sauntered into her gallery and Julian wondered why she was in such a good mood and guessed it was because AJ was dead. They bickered about who killed him and Julian was about to show her the Nakamura article when Jordan showed up, looking for a job. Ava found her resume skimpy and lacking in sufficient experience, but Jordan begged and played the mother card. Ava then stared at a picture of Kiki and offered Jordan a job. Jordan was thrilled and ran off. Once she was gone, Julian told Ava that he thought that she had just made a bad choice and that Jordan was likely a spy for Sonny since she was TJ’s mother. He then handed her the article about Nakamura and she started twitching. Then, while she was distracted, Julian sent a text to Silas and Sam.
Jordan returned to Kelly's and informed TJ and Shawn that she was going to work for Ava.
Carly woke up fitfully in bed with Franco. She was shaken by her memories of AJ telling her that Sonny shot him. Carly was reluctant to explain anything, but Franco nagged her. She was about to tell Franco about what told her before he died, but Sonny showed up at the door, barged in and wanted Franco out so he could talk to Carly in private. Carly asked Franco to go, but he demands to know what was going on. Yet, after some bickering, Franco left. Sonny then asked Carly what she was planning to do with what she knew.
Lulu started banging on Elizabeth's door. Obrecht ordered her to “make it good” and cocked her gun. Elizabeth answered the door and Lulu filled her in on the latest in the search for Ben and Obrecht. Elizabeth tried to assure her that Ben was fine and Lulu wondered how she could know. Obrecht eavesdropped and cringed as the women discussed their feelings and once Lulu was done venting, she left. Obrecht then decided it was time to make a call.
At the PCPD, Dante warned Britt not to leave town. She insisted that she had no idea where Ben or her mother were. As she was about to leave, Nikolas arrived and wasn't thrilled to see that had been released. Britt told him again that she never meant to hurt anyone, but Nikolas railed at her and demanded that she get out of his life. She then told him that her love for him was never a lie. Once she was gone, Nikolas and Dante talked about how wrong things were. Dante then told Nikolas that he didn't blame him for anything, yet Nikolas insisted on helping out. Then, Lulu arrived and told them how reassuring Elizabeth had been.
Britt showed up at GH. Brad wasn’t sure she should be there. She reminded him she had no home. They then talked about both of them losing everything, how they were both dumped and that they didn't have any other friends. He then told her that she could crash at his place. She didn't want him to get any more involved, but he pushed it so she accepted and thanked him. Britt then talked about falling for Ben and how hard it was to let go of that. He then asked her if she was going take the baby and run. Before she could answer his question, she got a call from her mother.
At the gallery, Ava was shocked when she read the article about Nakamura. Then, Nathan showed up and told Julian that they needed to talk. The men sent Ava to the office so they could talk loudly while she eavesdropped. Julian implied that he wanted her out of commission but refused to run a false story for Nathan, who then offered him an interview with Nakamura and told him where he'd be staying. Once Nathan was gone, Julian called Ava out and told her that he was leaving. She read the paper again and freaked out.
At Kelly's, Jordan informed Shawn and TJ that she was going to be working for Ava at the gallery. They filled her in about the Jeromes and how TJ was used as a human shield. She was shocked but said she wasn’t quitting the job. She and Shawn then argued about it, but she wouldn't back down. TJ wasn't thrilled with this and left. Shawn then asked Jordan what she was really up to.
Meanwhile, Sam and Silas strolled in and sat at a table. They hoped their plan was working and ate some pie. He wondered if they could trust Julian since Sam hardly knew him. Then, Nathan arrived and filled them in about his conversation with Julian and Ava eavesdropping.
Sonny and Carly were in Franco's hotel room. Sonny needed to know if she was going to rat him out. She told him that she wasn’t upset that AJ was gone but that Michael loved him and was suffering because of his loss. Carly then needed an explanation about how Ava was connected to all of this and Sonny explained that Ava saw the shooting because AJ was strangling her. "I didn't shoot him because I had to. I shot him because I wanted to," he admitted. He then added that he was glad Ava was there to help him out. Carly wondered why AJ was attacking Ava in the first place. Carly then told Sonny that she wasn't going to tell Michael that he shot and killed AJ. "We take this to our graves," she said. He then thanked her.
Morgan caught Ava rushing out of her gallery and could tell there was something wrong. They went inside and he insisted on knowing what was bothering her, saying that she could trust him. He found the article about Nakamura on the floor and asked if she was in New York to kill that pharmacist. She told him it was Silas, who had killed him. Morgan thought that sounded irrational and asked Ava why she wasn’t telling him anything. He told her that he loved her and that she was supposed to trust him. Ava told Morgan that this was none of his business and if he loved her he would let her go. He replied that he couldn’t have a relationship like this but she left anyway. Once he was alone, he read the article about Nakamura.
At The Metro Court, Nathan entered room 617, “Nakamura’s” room. Nathan, Sam and Silas were sure Ava was on her way to finish off Nakamura and had audio and video set up to catch her trying to kill the pharmacist. Nathan then got word that all the officers were busy looking for Obrecht and their Nakamura stand-in couldn’t make it. Sam then volunteered, but Silas refused to put her in harm’s way. Silas volunteered, but then got called in to the hospital for an emergency. Sam was back on board as Nakamura. Silas balked, but she still insisted. Nathan promised Silas that he would take care of Sam. Silas and Sam kissed each other goodbye as he left for GH.
At GH, Brad looked over his old texts from Lucas and left him a voicemail.
Meanwhile, Obrecht called Britt at GH and asked her if she was ready to pick up her son – assuming she still wanted him? Britt wondered what life she could give Ben while on the run, but Obrecht told her that she had a plan with fake passports, money, and everything she needed to start a new life with Ben. Britt then asked where they were and was shocked when she learned they are at Elizabeth’s. Obrecht then told Britt to hurry. Britt then pulled Brad into an exam room and told him that she could have a whole new life with Ben. Brad asked if she was sure she didn’t want to try rebuild here. She replied that she wanted her son and thanked Brad for always being there for her, no matter how many crazy things she asked him to do and then she said goodbye.
At Kelly’s, Shawn accused Jordan of purposefully working for his enemy. She replied that not everything was about him and that she just needed a job. He then accused her of being “back to her old tricks.” She demanded an explanation and he told her that they both knew what she was involved in back in Maryland and he was wondering if she thought that the Jeromes would put her “back in the business.” She insisted “that part of her life was behind me” and stormed out of Kelly’s.
Meanwhile, Lucas stopped Felix on his way into Kelly’s. Felix didn’t want to hear about Lucas’ happy life with Brad, but Lucas told him there was no happy life. He said that Brad was a sympathetic sounding board when he came to town during Carly’s kidnapping, and he thought they would be more, but it ended when he learned that Brad had helped Britt steal Lulu’s baby. Felix then realized that Brad was going to tell him everything on Valentine’s Day until Felix found the sexy selfie from Lucas. Lucas couldn’t believe Brad had kept quiet after all the pain Lulu and Dante went through. Felix still thought that Brad felt guilty about it. Later, Lucas listened to Brad’s voicemail saying he misses him.
At the PCPD, Lulu told Dante and Nikolas that went to see Elizabeth, who made her realize that Ben was safe and that she was very sure, like she had a gut feeling. Then, Dante left to get a court order so they could follow Britt. Lulu then told Nikolas again about how Elizabeth seemed to know for a fact that Ben was okay and it made her feel better. Nikolas then told Lulu that he was worried that the way he blew up at Elizabeth had driven her right into Ric’s arms. Lulu replied that Ric didn’t spend the night, but Nikolas said he was positive he heard someone else in the house. Dante returned with what he needed to follow Britt. Just then, Britt arrived.
At Elizabeth’s, Obrecht got ready for Britt to arrive. Someone knocked on the door and Obrecht thought it was Britt, but it was Nikolas. He told her that he knew someone else was in the house and that it wasn’t Ric. Then, Obrecht emerged with the gun.
Felix brought food from Kelly’s to GH as “fuel” for his next shift and told Brad that he knew everything about him and Britt, and also how he was going to confess to him on Valentine’s Day.
Meanwhile, Silas called Sam and told her to be careful. Just then Ava rushed up and told a shocked Silas that they needed to talk urgently.
A woman entered “Nakamura’s” the hotel room and uncapped a syringe. Just as she was about to stab Sam with it, Nathan turned on the lights, gun drawn. Everyone was shocked that it was Madeline!
